Title: when architects dream .|. the wonder wall series
Description: I have fallen madly in love with the new dark and dreamy inky blues of the Hipstamatic W Mag Free Pak. On the day of the new Hipsta gear release I went on a mini shooting spree in downtown Oakland. I knew even before the image had finished developing that this building (one of my favorite high-rise buildings in Oakland) and specifically that this shot was destined for my never ending -when architects dream- series. I love shooting straight up architecture, but i also love to manipulate those delicious lines and curves into a fantastical world of make believe structures.
Shot with Hipstamatic using Wonder lens + W40 film. (The original shot can be seen in #WonderWallSeries_prp)
First App: Decim8- I used a combo of Xeox + Veth for most of the edits in this series, including this particular one.
Second App: Diptic- using the two vertical images layout I opened my decim8d version in both fields. The first thing I did was to remove/reduce the border in the effects menu. Next in the transform menu I applied “mirror image” to one of the two fields. Then I spent some time adjusting, enlarging and generally futzing around until I found just the right balance of color and shapes.
Third App: Picfx- The delicious color and tones from the W40/Wonder combo was tweaked in Decim8. I combined the Vintage Film and Ocean filters to get closer to the original tones.
Fourth App: Snapseed- still not totally happy with the tones, under the Tune Image menu, I adjusted the brightness to -16 and white balance to -2 and saved.
